What surfaces does this mount work on?
The mount works on ferrous (iron-containing) metal surfaces — this includes the steel panels of most cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, vans, boats, trailers, and storage containers. It will not adhere to aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, or non-ferrous materials. If a magnet sticks to your surface, this mount will work on it.
Will it scratch or damage my vehicle's paint?
The magnet base is designed to sit against your vehicle's surface. We recommend placing a thin protective pad or cloth between the mount base and any painted surface if scratch prevention is a concern. The mount itself will not chemically damage paint, but contact between any metal edge and a painted surface under vibration can potentially cause marks over time.
